Raised in Marshall County, W.Va., Jacob Strautmann is a recipient of the Massachusetts Poetry Fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. His poems have appeared in the Boston Globe, Agni Magazine, Salamander Magazine, Southern Humanities Review, Blackbird, and others. He is an Associate Director of Development Communications at Boston University, where he also teaches playwriting. He lives in Greater Boston with his partner Valerie Duff and their two children.

He is currently at work on a third manuscript of poems, which is a painting-poetry collaboration with the German artist Eva Strautmann. It is tentatively titled “Golden Horses.”
